Sep 13, 2017

Several hundred invited guests and media attended the September 12 official opening of what is probably one of the most talked-about projects in 2017 - the Justice and Emergency Services Precinct in Christchurch. Prime Minister, Bill English, was one of several speakers to praise the efforts of the teams which have worked to deliver this project.

About the Precinct:
The Precinct is the largest multi-agency government co-location project in New Zealand's history and brings all regional justice and emergency services together in one purpose-built facility.
It has been built to withstand significant seismic events and contains special resiliency features to enable the Emergency Operations Centre and 111 Call Centre to continue operating in a major emergency, including a back-up power generator, 100,000 litres of potable water and 100,000 litres of sewage storage.
