Construction of a 17-storey 238-room hotel on a 1591m2 site, corner of 75 Featherston & Whitmore Streets, Wellington.
The hotel has 280 rooms, as well as food & beverage outlets and retail on the ground floor and 30 car parks a conference facility, 17-metre lap pool, sauna, spa and gym in the lower podium.
The building is made up of a series of vertical concrete fins that run the full height of the building. These fins are aligned on an angle to emphasise either the seaward or Tinakori hill views. Peddle Thorp Aitken Architects and Studio of Pacific Architecture worked together on the construction documentation.
