Macquarie Bank – Lumley Centre

  • Division: Interiors
  • Location: Auckland
  • Started: November 2006
  • Cost: $1.8 million
  • Client: Macquarie Bank
  • Completed: January 2007

Situated on level 17 of the Lumley Centre building in Auckland’s CBD, the project demanded careful planning in order to minimise disruption to adjacent tenants.

The single floor fit-out over 1170m2 consisted of offices, utility areas, reception, staff kitchen/breakout area, corporate kitchen, high specification board and client meeting rooms. In addition to this, and requiring early handover for client access, was a complex communication room incorporating high level fire protection and air quality and control.

Construction of the offices and general areas was typical steel stud construction but with high specification for acoustic ratings and highly detailed finishes. Wall finishes ranged from painted Gib board, colour back glass, acoustic fabric, feature fabric and timber panelling. The floor finishes also varied utilising stone and marble through to rubber flooring and conventional carpet. There was a high services demand as there were a number of complex systems installed.
