Bearing up in old age

Following seismic strengthening works to the Old Registry Building at the Arts Centre in 2004, Fletcher has been involved with a number of projects for the Arts Centre of Christchurch, the most recent involving seismic strengthening and refurbishment of the School of Art building.

An advanced Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) wrap was chosen as a more suitable material for seismic strengthening of the building because it is less invasive and allows the building to move safely during the event of an earthquake.
