Protecting drivers on the Bay of Plenty’s largest ever roading project

The largest roading project ever undertaken in the Bay of Plenty, the 21km Tauranga Eastern Link created a more direct route between Tauranga and Paengaroa, improving safety and reducing journey time by 11 minutes. Opened in July 2015, the new arterial road will take regional traffic out of Te Puke and Paengaroa and drive economic growth by enabling faster freight movements.

Seovic constructed 2 km of TL-5 barrier for main contractor Fulton Hogan / HEB joint Venture, providing protection for embankments and structures. Seovic’s slip-form methodology enable the barrier to be constructed considerably faster and cheaper than alternative methods.
