Suffering from the back to work blues? There’s no better cure than booking another break, and no better place to relax than the new Momi Bay Resort. Take advantage of the current cheap airfares and be one of the first to stay in the five-star Marriot-Branded hotel on Fiji’s main island Viti Levu.
Construction of the 250-room hotel is now complete, with the resort due to officially open in April. Fletcher South Pacific Manager Alan Brown said “The Marriot at Momi will provide a new and unique hotel experience for the Fiji holidaymakers.”
Fletcher Construction Fiji has put the finishing touches on the 250-room hotel, which once sat abandoned following the collapse of failed finance company Bridgecorp in 2007. Fletcher was appointed by the Fiji National Provident Fund (the property owner) to undertake remediation works and complete the hotel in late 2014.
Situated between Fiji’s two most popular resort areas, Denarau and the Coral Coast, Momi Bay Marriott offers luxury hotel style accommodation. The resort includes three restaurants, two swimming pools, fitness and recreation centres, gift shops, tennis courts and a spa with eight treatment rooms. The accommodation consists of 136 standard rooms and 114 free-standing bures with 22 of the bures being overwater in the first man-made lagoon in Fiji.
Marriott International, the resort operator praised the quality of workmanship the Fletcher team has been able to achieve on the project, saying during their latest visit that they believe Momi Bay will be a premier resort in the Asia-Pacific region when it opens in early 2017.
The resort is expected to create over 400 local jobs.
