Higgins launches 2024 Driver of the Year competition
Higgins launched the 2024 Driver of the Year Award today, 12 February.
The internal competition has helped us substantially reduced our carbon emissions – and save a million dollars on fuel.
A few years ago, Brendon Graham saw the opportunity to improve driver behaviour by running a “Driver of the Year” competition.
The competition is growing every year, and has seen much safer driving overall. With a decrease in speeding and more vehicles being pre-started, this program has contributed to Higgins Contractors becoming a 5 star operator under the New Zealand Transport Agency operator rating system.
