Since building the Auckland City Markets in 1916, we have delivered a range of buildings that have shaped the city’s skyline including the Civic Theatre, Auckland SkyTower and several stands at Eden Park, as well as hotels, major hospitals, tertiary education institutes and commercial office towers and retail spaces.
We continue to work with clients to deliver projects that will help make Auckland a truly world-class city, including the NZ International Convention Centre and Commercial Bay development.

All across the central North Island we have built and redeveloped hotels, hospitals, universities, commercial and retail buildings to support the aspirations of the local communities. Iconic projects include the Chateau Tongariro, Waikato Stadium, Kathleen Kilgour Centre and the National Bank of New Zealand. We played a key role in the rebuild of Napier following the 1931 earthquake.

We began operations in Dunedin in 1909, undertook our first project in Canterbury in 1922 and established a permanent office in Christchurch in 1955. We have been active in the region ever since. Prior to the earthquakes we undertook significant (and successful) strengthening works in the Christchurch Arts Centre, Christchurch Boys High School and other landmark buildings. Post the earthquakes we have been involved in significant rebuild projects and Fletcher EQR has managed the repair of 150,000 homes on behalf of the Earthquake Commission.
Largest Project, Earthquake Recovery
Our history in the Capital dates back to 1917, when we delivered the Salvation Army Barracks behind the People’s Palace on Cuba Street. We’ve been active in the region ever since, delivering many of the civic and commercial buildings that have become part of the fabric of Wellington – the Central Railway station, Te Papa Museum of New Zealand, Westpac Stadium, Intercontinental Hotel and Capital & Coast Hospital to name just a few.
